90 DAY CHALLENGE: GREAT UNCLE DEADLIFT (THE BASICS WK 2, DAY 1)

Moving along in the 90 day challenge, this week we will be getting to know our Great Uncle Deadlift. Today we are going to go over the foundations of the very basic, most commonly used Deadlift.

QUESTION:

Why is the Deadlift important?

ANSWER:

Quite simply, it teaches you how to properly pick something up off the ground. I don’t care if you are a man or woman, adult or child… you are going to have to pick stuff up from the floor at some point in your life so you may as well learn how to do it properly, unless you want to be useless when you hit 60 years old.

NOTE:

If you cannot Deadlift a 45 pound plate on each side (135 pounds) you may have trouble with the height of the bar (should be mid-shin level)… if this is a problem you can throw some weight plates underneath the bar to hoist it up to the right height
